BREAKING: Oyo APC Crisis Deepens as Sanda, BAO-Led Progressives Declare Agbaje Their Guber Candidate

The Oyo State APC Central Progressives Conference of Living Progressive Leaders has thrown its weight behind governorship aspirant, Barr. Akeem Agbaje, ahead of the 2027 Oyo governorship election.
The group, led by prominent APC figures including Chief Kunle Sanda and Baba BAO, declared its support for Agbaje at a conference held in Ibadan on Thursday.
The gathering adopted the slogan “No Agbaje, No Progressives,” signalling a fresh show of strength by Agbaje’s supporters amid ongoing disagreements within the Oyo APC over the governorship ticket.
Agbaje, who is seeking the APC governorship ticket for the third time, said the declaration was aimed at protecting the progressive bloc within the party.
Baba BAO urged APC leaders to address grievances and preserve the party’s progressive tradition, while Sanda declared his support for Agbaje and appealed to aggrieved members not to leave the APC.
The development could further reshape the political battle for the APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 Oyo election.
