Results are beginning to emerge from polling units across Osun State following Saturday’s governorship election.
Voting was scheduled to end at 2:30pm, although voters who were already on the queue before the official closing time are legally allowed to cast their ballots.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said 2,339,233 voters were registered for the election, which featured candidates from 15 political parties.
The major contenders in the election are the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party; the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji; and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam.
As voting ended in several polling units, results were announced and counted in the presence of party agents and voters.

The figures are results from individual polling units and do not represent the final outcome of the election. The official winner will be determined after results from all polling units are collated at the appropriate collation centres and declared by INEC.
More results are expected to emerge as the counting and collation process continues across the state.
