Osun 2026: APC Campaign Council Unveils Strategy to Unseat Adeleke

The National Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 Osun State governorship election has formally commenced its campaign activities, unveiling a strategy focused on grassroots mobilisation, operational planning and coordinated political engagement aimed at reclaiming the state.
The decision was announced on Monday during the inaugural meeting of the 291-member National Campaign Council and its 12 subcommittees held at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
Chairman of the campaign council and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, described the gathering as the beginning of a coordinated effort to secure victory for the APC and its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the forthcoming election.
According to Uzodinma, members of the council have a singular responsibility to work towards returning Osun State to APC control.
“The plan is to go and support our brothers and sisters in Osun State to win the forthcoming election. This meeting is not for merrymaking. It’s not for any jamboree—it is for people to come and offer service,” he said.
The Imo State governor, who also serves as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, directed the council’s 12 subcommittees to meet immediately and submit comprehensive operational plans to the campaign’s central secretariat within days.
He emphasised that every campaign activity must be driven by the objective of delivering electoral victory.
“We have only one mission: to win the election. Everything can come after the elections,” Uzodinma stated.
As part of preparations, the campaign council also authorised its finance subcommittee to begin receiving financial contributions from party members, supporters and other willing donors to fund campaign activities across the state.
“The finance subcommittee is mandated to collect all contributions from willing members and non-members who want to make contributions to the Osun governorship election,” he added.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, who serves as Secretary of the National Campaign Council. It was attended by senior APC stakeholders, members of the campaign council and chairmen of the various subcommittees.
Uzodinma further instructed all committees to submit their operational proposals and requests for logistical support to the Central Working Committee on or before Thursday, as the party intensifies preparations ahead of the Osun governorship election.
The APC is expected to begin full-scale campaign activities across the state in the coming weeks as political parties gear up for the keenly contested governorship poll.
