Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has received the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the abduction of students and teachers at Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The commission was established by the state government to investigate the circumstances surrounding the abduction and make recommendations following the incident.

Makinde received the report on Tuesday, as the government continues efforts to strengthen security around schools and communities across the state.

The abduction of the students and teachers had raised concerns over the safety of schools and residents in communities within the Oriire axis.

While presenting its report, the commission was expected to provide findings on the circumstances surrounding the incident, including possible security lapses and measures required to prevent similar occurrences.

Receiving the report, Makinde said the recommendations would be carefully considered as the government works to improve the security architecture of the state.

The governor has repeatedly identified security as a major responsibility of government, stressing the need for collaboration among security agencies, communities and other stakeholders to protect residents.

The report is expected to guide further action by the Oyo State Government on the safety of schools, teachers and students, particularly in communities vulnerable to attacks and abductions.
