Data: Ogun Ranks Worst for Road Quality in Nigeria, Kogi, Imo Follow in 2025 Residents’ Survey

Ogun State has emerged as the state with the poorest road quality in Nigeria, according to a 2025 residents’ assessment published by StatiSense using data from the pSPI Report.
The ranking, which reflects residents’ perception of road quality across the 37 administrative units assessed, placed Ogun in 37th position, making it the lowest-performing state nationwide.
Kogi ranked 36th, while Imo occupied 35th, completing the bottom three states in the assessment. Other states with low road quality scores include Taraba (34th), Ondo (33rd), Edo (32nd), Anambra (31st), Delta (30th), Bayelsa (29th), Kwara (28th), Kaduna (27th) and Ekiti (26th).
The findings indicate that the lowest-performing states are spread across all six geopolitical zones, suggesting that road infrastructure challenges remain a nationwide concern rather than being confined to a particular region.
Among the 12 states listed at the bottom of the ranking, the South West recorded three states—Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti—while the South East had Imo and Anambra. The South-South accounted for Edo, Delta and Bayelsa, the North Central had Kogi and Kwara, the North East was represented by Taraba, and Kaduna was the only North West state in the bottom 12.
The assessment is based on residents’ evaluation of road quality in their respective states, providing insight into public perception of transport infrastructure and accessibility in 2025.
