Breaking: After Adeleke Visit, Osun APC Guber Candidate AMBO Visits Tinubu In Aso Villa

Osun APC governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, a day after Governor Ademola Adeleke also visited the President following the state’s governorship election.
Oyebamiji’s meeting with Tinubu came days after he lost the August 15 governorship election to Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party.
Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes in the closely contested election.
The meeting was disclosed on Friday after Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, shared a video of the President receiving Oyebamiji at the Presidential Villa.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Oyebamiji appealed to residents of Osun State, particularly his supporters, to remain calm and peaceful.
He said the government was ultimately about the people and urged political actors to avoid actions that could further heighten tension in the state.
Oyebamiji also disclosed that the APC was still examining the results of the election before deciding on its next course of action.
“For now, the APC is still examining the books, and by the time we spread our sheet, we’ll be able to get back to the public and listen to what our own opinion and what decisions we want to take,” he said.
The APC candidate also appealed to Adeleke to caution his supporters against violence, saying any act of violence would ultimately affect the people of Osun.
He said some APC supporters were attacked in his hometown, Ikire, on Friday morning, adding that security agencies had been informed of the incident.
Oyebamiji’s visit came a day after Adeleke met with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Adeleke’s meeting with the President had generated speculation about his political future, particularly claims that he could defect from Accord to the ruling APC.
However, the Imole Campaign Council subsequently dismissed the speculation, insisting that the governor’s visit to Tinubu had nothing to do with any plan to join the APC.
With both the winner and the APC candidate now having separately met with Tinubu after the election, attention has shifted to the next phase of political developments in Osun.
The election has also opened a new phase of post-election engagement, with Adeleke later commending Oyebamiji for his call for peace and inviting opposition leaders to work together for the development of the state.
