‘If Governor Makinde Calls Me Today, I’ll Run to Him’ — Oriyomi Hamzat Begs Gov Makinde To Call Him

Ace broadcaster and founder of Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat, has dismissed speculations of a strained relationship between Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, saying he would gladly respond if the governor invited him.
Speaking in a now-viral video circulating on social media, Hamzat said he harbours no personal grievances against the governor despite widespread public perceptions of tension between them.
“If Governor Makinde should call me today, I will run to him quickly. He should please call me,” Hamzat said.
The broadcaster jokingly added that if the governor eventually invited him, perhaps it could be to offer financial support for his rumoured governorship ambition or campaign.
“Maybe he wants to give me money for my gubernatorial election and campaign,” he remarked with a laugh.
Hamzat, however, stressed that the comment was made in a light-hearted manner, insisting that he has no issues with Governor Makinde.
“I don’t have any problem with Governor Makinde,” he stated.
His remarks have since generated mixed reactions on social media, with many interpreting them as an attempt to dispel rumours of a fallout between the influential broadcaster and the Oyo State governor.
The comments come amid growing political discussions in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 governorship election, where Hamzat’s name has repeatedly surfaced in public conversations, although he has yet to make any formal declaration of interest.
