President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to officially unveil the N2.4 trillion Abuja City Walk on Thursday, marking the commencement of construction on one of Nigeria’s most ambitious urban development projects.
The 250-hectare mixed-use district, strategically located along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport corridor in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is expected to transform Abuja into a major investment, tourism and commercial destination.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to hold between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Plot 28, Cadastral Zone C17, Industrial Area II, Abuja.
The project is being developed by MAG Group, the parent company of MAG International Links Limited, in partnership with Link Developments, under a joint venture agreement signed in June 2025.

A major highlight of the event will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Link Developments and Saudi royal Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Khalid bin Turki Al Saud, who is also expected to address prospective investors.
The Nigeria-Arab Gulf Chamber of Commerce will also participate in the ceremony, reinforcing growing investment interest from Gulf countries in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
Designed by renowned international architecture firm Benoy, the Abuja City Walk masterplan will feature a 450-metre skyscraper, projected to become Africa’s tallest building, housing luxury residences, premium office spaces and hospitality facilities.
The development will also boast a 13,000-seat indoor arena, expected to become Nigeria’s largest indoor sports and entertainment venue, alongside a modern arts district with approximately 12,000 square metres of exhibition and performance spaces.
Another key attraction is “The Living Ravine,” an environmentally sustainable ecological corridor built around the innovative Sponge District concept, which integrates wetlands, waterways and rainwater harvesting systems to improve flood control and climate resilience. The ecological design has already been shortlisted for the 2026 World Landscape Architecture Awards.
The Abuja City Walk is situated within a designated Free Trade Zone, allowing investors to benefit from tax incentives and a business-friendly regulatory framework established by the Federal Government to attract long-term foreign investment.
The project gained momentum following reforms introduced by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) under the leadership of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who facilitated the recovery of dormant land allocations, completed regulatory approvals, issued the Certificate of Occupancy and committed to providing access roads to the site.
Speaking on the significance of the project, Wike said the land, originally allocated to the Abuja Technology Village over two decades ago, had remained undeveloped for about 20 years before the current administration revived it.
He said the development aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by attracting foreign investment, creating employment opportunities and accelerating the transformation of Abuja into a globally competitive city.
According to Wike, the Abuja City Walk is expected to mirror the success of Dubai’s iconic City Walk development while positioning Nigeria’s capital as a regional hub for business, innovation, culture and tourism.
