Adebayo Adelabu Remains Loyal APC Member, Aide Dismisses Defection Rumours
The media aide to former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has dismissed speculation that his principal has left the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the reports as unfounded.
Speaking in a telephone interview with The Nigeria Times on Monday, Adelabu’s media aide, Mr. Femi Awogboro, said the former minister remains a committed and loyal member of the ruling party.
According to Awogboro, Adelabu has never announced his resignation from the APC and continues to participate actively in the party’s affairs.
“Chief Adebayo Adelabu is still a very loyal member of the APC and is doing well in the party. He has not, for once, announced that he is leaving the party,” Awogboro said.
The clarification follows widespread speculation on social media and within political circles suggesting that the APC chieftain had defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Awogboro maintained that there has been no official statement or action from Adelabu to support such claims, urging members of the public to disregard the rumours.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been been no official announcement from Chief Adebayo Adelabu indicating any change in his membership of the All Progressives Congress.
