Nigerian Army Arrests Two Soldiers Who Serves As Bouncer On Peller Jarvis Wedding Day

The Nigerian Army has arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in an unauthorised deployment during the lavish wedding ceremony of Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and fellow TikTok personality Jarvis.
According to military sources, the soldiers were apprehended on Tuesday following intelligence reports indicating that they participated in an illegal deployment at the celebrity wedding held in Lekki, Lagos State, over the weekend.
A senior military source identified the arrested personnel as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa of the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, who is also attached to the same formation in Obalende, Lagos.
The source disclosed that preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement and identify any other personnel connected to the incident.
“Following credible intelligence on the involvement of Nigerian Army personnel in illegal deployment during popular social influencer Peller’s wedding in Lekki, Lagos, the personnel were arrested this morning. Preliminary investigation is ongoing to establish the extent of their involvement and identify other personnel connected with the incident,” the source said.
The arrests followed the circulation of multiple videos from the high-profile wedding showing individuals dressed in Nigerian Army uniforms providing security at the event.
One of the clips that sparked widespread reactions allegedly showed a soldier acting as a bouncer while escorting TikTok personality Ivanna through the crowded venue.
The videos generated criticism on social media, with many Nigerians questioning why military personnel were allegedly deployed to provide security at a private event attended by celebrities, influencers and content creators.
Peller and Jarvis’ wedding, held in Lekki over the weekend, attracted several notable entertainers, influencers and social media personalities, making it one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the weekend.
However, the celebration soon became controversial after footage emerged showing uniformed military personnel controlling access to sections of the venue and escorting some guests.
The Nigerian Army has consistently maintained that serving personnel are prohibited from undertaking unauthorised private security duties or participating in deployments without official approval. The ongoing investigation is expected to determine whether additional personnel or civilians were involved in facilitating the alleged illegal deployment.
