No More CBT Centre Visits as JAMB Launches Online O’Level Upload

By Naheem Olaoye

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online system allowing candidates seeking admission through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results from home.

The development means candidates will no longer need to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres solely to upload their O’Level results, particularly during periods of heavy patronage and long queues.

The new service, which initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), allows JAMB to electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before uploading them to their profiles.

In a statement issued on Monday by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board said the initiative was designed to make the process easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.

According to the Board, the system will also help address problems associated with misplaced or mixed-up certificates, fraudulent or unverified results and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.

With the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results can now be checked against records held by the issuing bodies before being uploaded to their JAMB profiles.

How candidates can verify their O’Level results

JAMB said candidates must first obtain a Result Verification Code through the designated result verification portal.

Candidates are required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), select the number of O’Level sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies, as well as provide their email address and GSM number before making payment through the available payment gateway.

They will then provide their examination number, examination series and examination year.

After successful verification, a Verification Code will be issued to the candidate.

The candidate is thereafter required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.

JAMB said candidates would receive a notification confirming the verification and subsequent submission of their result.

How to upload the verified result

Candidates with two O’Level sittings are required to log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

After entering their Verification Code, the two verified results will be displayed, allowing candidates to select the required subjects.

JAMB said candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once.

Candidates are then expected to click “Apply the O’Level Results” to complete the process.

A notification will be sent once the upload is successfully completed.

The Board said the online verification and upload system would be particularly beneficial when CBT centres experience heavy patronage, long queues or network difficulties.

JAMB said the initiative formed part of its ongoing digital transformation aimed at reducing unnecessary physical visits, paperwork and delays while improving service delivery to candidates.

The latest development effectively moves a major admission-related process from physical CBT centres to a technology-driven system that allows eligible candidates to complete the process remotely.
