Argentina pocket $33 million as runners-up, while England and France receive $29 million and $27 million respectively after the expanded 48-team tournament.

FIFA has confirmed the prize money for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with newly crowned champions Spain receiving $50 million following their dramatic victory over Argentina in the final.
Spain clinched a record fourth FIFA World Cup title after defeating Argentina 1-0 after extra time at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Barcelona forward Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 108th minute to hand La Roja the trophy and the tournament’s biggest financial reward.
The $50 million payout marks Spain’s highest-ever World Cup earnings and reflects FIFA’s increased financial commitment to the expanded 48-team tournament.
Argentina, despite narrowly missing out on the title, will receive $33 million as runners-up. The final also marked Lionel Messi’s last FIFA World Cup appearance, ending his illustrious World Cup career after helping Argentina lift the trophy in Qatar in 2022.
England, who defeated France 6-4 in an entertaining third-place play-off, will earn $29 million for finishing third, while France will receive $27 million after placing fourth.
