Just In: FCC Boss Omidiran Celebrates Oluremi Tinubu at 66, Hails Women, Girl-Child Advocacy

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has felicitated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on her 66th birthday, describing her as a compassionate mother and strong advocate for women, children and vulnerable Nigerians.
Omidiran, in a goodwill message issued on Monday, September 21, 2026, commended the First Lady for what she described as years of dedicated public service and her continued efforts to improve the lives of women, children, families and underserved communities across Nigeria.
According to the FCC chairman, Senator Tinubu’s public service has been characterised by compassion, resilience and commitment to humanitarian causes, particularly those affecting Nigerian families.
She said the First Lady’s role had provided an important platform for advancing initiatives focused on the welfare and future of women and children across the country.
Omidiran particularly praised Tinubu’s advocacy for women and the girl child, stressing that inclusive national development requires equal opportunities for Nigerians irrespective of gender, background or place of origin.
“Every girl deserves the opportunity to dream, learn, develop her abilities and become whatever she is capable of becoming. When we empower a woman, we strengthen a family; when we educate a girl, we invest in the future of a nation,” Omidiran said.
The FCC chairman also commended the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative for its interventions in areas including education, healthcare, economic empowerment and social welfare.
She noted that sustained investment in women and children remained critical to Nigeria’s long-term development, adding that initiatives targeting vulnerable groups could contribute significantly to improving the wellbeing of families.
“As you celebrate 66 years of a life of impact, service and sacrifice, may you continue to be strengthened with wisdom, grace and good health to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to you,” she said.
Omidiran further conveyed her birthday wishes on behalf of her family, the management and staff of the Federal Character Commission.
