President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is meeting with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, days after the governor secured re-election in the Osun governorship election.
Adeleke arrived at the forecourt of the Villa at exactly 5:25 pm on Thursday, dressed in a navy blue traditional outfit and carrying a walking stick.
The governor arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The meeting marks Adeleke’s first engagement with President Tinubu since his re-election in last Saturday’s governorship poll.
The governor’s visit comes days after Tinubu personally congratulated him on his victory, describing the outcome as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country.”
The President also urged Adeleke to unite the people of Osun State, irrespective of their political affiliations and choices during the election.
Four other Osun officials were also seen arriving at the Presidential Villa at about 5:40 pm.
They include the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; the Chief of Staff to the Osun State Governor, Akinleye Kazeem; and the member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Bamidele Salam.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to attract attention given the political significance of Adeleke’s re-election and his relationship with the Federal Government.
