The thrilling encounter produced 10 goals, making it one of the highest-scoring matches in World Cup history. England raced into a commanding first-half lead before France mounted a spirited comeback inspired by Mbappé, who scored twice and continued to rewrite football’s record books.
Despite Mbappé’s brilliance, England held their nerve to secure a 6-4 victory and finish third at the tournament. Bukayo Saka starred for the Three Lions with a memorable hat-trick, while Jude Bellingham added another goal to cap an entertaining contest.
Mbappé’s latest milestone further cements his legacy as one of the greatest players in World Cup history.
