Ibadan Muslim Clerics Lauds Gbolahan Ibikunle’s Contribution To Community Development, Honour Him With ‘Sulaimon’ Name

Islamic scholars, Imams and Alfas in Ibadan North-West Ward 11 have honoured the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Ibadan North-West State Constituency, Hon. Olayinka Gbolahan Ibikunle, with the Islamic name “Sulaimon,” meaning “Man of Peace.”

The recognition followed Ibikunle’s donation of ₦1 million towards humanitarian initiatives and community development in the area.

The Chief Imam of Olopomewa, Imam Oluseyi, popularly known as Arometa, alongside other Islamic clerics, commended the APM candidate for what they described as his generosity, humility and commitment to the welfare of residents.

The occasion was marked by prayers and goodwill as the religious leaders described the “Sulaimon” honour as a reflection of Ibikunle’s perceived disposition towards peace, compassion and service to humanity.

The clerics also recalled a similar recognition previously given to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who they said was honoured with the name “Saheed.”

While praying for Ibikunle, the Alfas asked for continued success, wisdom, good health and greater capacity for him to contribute to the development of the community and serve humanity.

The religious leaders also encouraged the APM candidate to sustain his humanitarian efforts and deepen his engagement with the grassroots.

The visit further underscored Ibikunle’s stated commitment to maintaining relationships with religious institutions and other community stakeholders, with emphasis on peace, unity, humanitarian service and grassroots development.

The gathering ended with special prayers and goodwill messages from the clerics, who expressed appreciation for Ibikunle’s gesture and urged him to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
