Just In: Accord Chairman Dump Adeleke Backs AMBO, Orders Members to Vote APC Candidate On Saturday Poll

The factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, Prof. Chris Imumolen, has declared his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of Saturday’s election.
Imumolen made the declaration on Thursday at the APC mega rally held ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The Accord leader, who had earlier expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke would lose the election, said he had decided to support Oyebamiji because he believed the APC candidate was better positioned to lead the state.
He directed all Accord Party members and structures across Osun State to support and vote for Oyebamiji at the poll.
Imumolen’s endorsement adds to the growing political alignments ahead of Saturday’s election, with parties and political actors rallying support for candidates across the state.
The Accord factional chairman had earlier stated that he did not believe Adeleke had what it would take to secure victory at the polls.
He also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a leader who has demonstrated the resilience and courage required to steer the affairs of Nigeria.
According to Imumolen, Tinubu has shown the ability to navigate Nigeria’s complex political and economic challenges without allowing ethnic or religious considerations to influence his leadership.
The APC mega rally attracted party leaders, supporters and political groups from across Osun State as the party intensified its campaign ahead of Saturday’s election.
With Imumolen now throwing his weight behind AMBO, the development is expected to further shape the final political alignments ahead of the governorship poll.
