‘I’m Behind Oyo APC’s Problems, and More Are Coming’- APM Guber Candidate Adekanmbi

The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has claimed responsibility for what he described as the internal crisis rocking the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the party’s troubles would persist unless it changes its approach to internal democracy.
Adekanmbi made the remarks during a podcast interview with Ajibola Akinyefa, where he accused the APC leadership of treating aspirants unfairly during its governorship primary process.
According to him, the crisis within the party stems from its alleged insistence that aggrieved members remain silent despite what he described as injustice in the conduct of the primary.
The APM governorship candidate alleged that governorship aspirants spent millions of naira in pursuit of the APC ticket but were denied what they believed to be a fair process.
He also questioned why, according to him, the party had yet to publicly release the results of its ward, local government and state congresses, arguing that the lack of transparency had deepened dissatisfaction among party members.
Adekanmbi maintained that unless the issues surrounding the party’s internal processes are addressed, the APC should expect more internal challenges in the future.
He argued that political parties cannot expect loyalty from members while, in his view, failing to uphold transparency, fairness and accountability in their internal affairs.
His comments come amid ongoing political realignments in Oyo State as parties continue preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
