The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released the names of successful candidates recruited into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as Police Constables, marking the completion of the nationwide recruitment exercise for 50,000 personnel.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Kalu, who described the recruitment process as comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent.
According to the PSC, the exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, state career and counselling departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
The Commission directed all applicants who participated in the recently concluded written examination to check their recruitment status on the official recruitment portal.
According to the statement, the portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, will be accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while successful candidates will also receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during registration.
The PSC disclosed that shortlisted candidates would be required to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates to be announced later for medical examinations and documentation.
It warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer of appointment.
The Commission further noted that any candidate who fails the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption for training would be declared medically unfit and subsequently withdrawn from the exercise.
Successful applicants have been instructed to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original and photocopies of their academic certificates, alongside other required documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, describing the exercise as a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
Argungu urged the successful candidates to approach the opportunity with dedication, professionalism and patriotism.
He charged them to regard their appointment as a call to national service, stressing the importance of carrying out their duties with dignity, integrity and an unwavering commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure Nigeria.
