President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received a delegation of traditional rulers from Oyo State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in a courtesy visit led by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
The delegation comprised prominent first-class monarchs and traditional leaders from across Oyo State, who paid homage to the President during the visit at the State House.
Among the monarchs present were the Aare Ago of Ogbomoso, the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Balogun of Ibadanland, the Onigbeti of Igbeti, the Alajawa of Ajawa, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, and the Aseyin of Iseyin.
Also in attendance were the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Tegbe; the Chairman of the Nigerian Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare; and renowned Ibadan businessman and Mogaji, Chief Wole Arisekola.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Villa, underscored the enduring relationship between the Presidency and traditional institutions, which continue to play significant roles in promoting peace, unity, and grassroots development across the country.
Although details of the discussions were not immediately made public, the visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Federal Government and traditional rulers on issues of governance, national development, and community engagement.
The courtesy visit also marked one of the Olubadan’s high-profile engagements with President Tinubu since his ascension to the revered throne of Ibadanland.
